I don’t disagree at all that the UAW, and unions, especially public service unions,are a bane on our economy and freedom, respectively.

However, you said small automobile production wasn’t profitable (in the USA), and I believe that is not true.

Sorry. I should have clarified. Small American company made cars are not profitable when they are made here to UAW work requirements. One of the class projects for my MBA was to compare the costs of cars made in foreign countries that use subcontractors on each line. Acme may make and install the seats for example. But the Acme employees would not be union. The subcontractors bid against each other for the privilege of making the seat AND installing it. This keeps costs way below having UAW employees who make more money the longer they make the job last.
