Very sad to hear. She was one of my favourites when I liked country and many of my peers in high school and university were into rap, Beastie Boys, Led Zeppelin, and grunge.

One of my favorites, too.

What a sad sad shame... She was a beautiful songbird. One of songs, “Daddy’s Hands” was amazing.

RIP Sweet lady.

She was very pretty and a wonderful voice.

Saw her two or three times in concert. Once at a VFW in Sapulpa, OK.

I believe her mom was an artist in Sedona, AZ?

59 is way too damned young.

Rest in Peace.

Looking at her wikipedia entry, it’s “Daddy’s Hands” that I remember hearing quite a bit.

I’m sure she was very talented, I’ll have to look into her music more.

I have a couple of her albums “Across the Rio Grande” and “The Blue Rose of Texas” (which is a real understated gem, IMHO).

When I was going to school in Kingston, Ontario, there was a country nightclub that I would sneak away from the student area to in order to enjoy my weekend nights. The Rodeo Roadhouse was one of the better known country nightspots in Eastern Ontario and a few singers played there before really hitting it big (Alan Jackson just before he scored with “Here in the Real World” in 1990 was one). Holly was another who played a set of nights there (before I lived in the area).

Another memory I have is one day I was watching on TNN an interview with Holly and she showed parts of a large collection of Roy Rogers memorabilia that she had. She had some neat, interesting things on display. Hoping I am not going on too much about all of this.
