If I were her, I’d be that way too. She had a bunch of people around her who lied to her and kept her away from what was happening. Running for office is like nothing else you can ever experience. I can’t even imagine on that scale that is why Trump’s victory is so special, because he had everything against him.
You can only do so much with egomaniacs. They don't listen, because they are always right. I've worked around a few during my working career. She was also likely to be incapable of understanding what was going on a fair amount of time because of her health problems. They got her somewhat presentable for the debates, but buy the end of the campaign she was a total mess.
