SAN DIEGO, Oct. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — PacketSled announced today that its CEO, Matt Harrigan, has been named to the Board of Directors of the San Diego Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE). The San Diego CCOE is a non-profit dedicated to accelerating the region’s cyber economy and positioning it as a global hub of cyber innovation. Harrigan will join representatives from Bank of America, ViaSat, Qualcomm, FICO, ESET, Ernst & Young, US Navy SPAWAR, and others in helping to attract and nurture cybersecurity and IT talent, create new opportunities for businesses, and foster cooperation through the local economy.
One of the principal goals of the CCOE is to foster cooperation throughout the established cyber community, enabling large organizations and startups alike to focus on bringing additional innovation to the region. These efforts will increase the talent pool available to local companies, establish relationships between providers and buyers, and deliver core research that not only helps San Diego companies, but also keeps the citizens of San Diego safe from cyber security threats.
“We’re thrilled to have PacketSled become a board member and join our growing collection of world-class cyber companies,” said Rear Admiral Kenneth Slaght, co-chair and president of CCOE. “The future of cybersecurity is difficult to predict but with senior executive management of cyber firms taking part in the broader conversation of protection, we are that much more poised to develop initiatives aimed to serve our community.”
Maggie, your story is from October. Yes, he was fired from that position.
Never mind, Maggie. I see that’s a different position. I doubt very much he will last there, either, if he’s not already been given the boot.
