Whats the point about being closer to a country ..

Because, our skirmishes in the late 18th & early 19th centuries notwithstanding, they are US.

And yes, I hope for change there almost as much as for change here, but the above counts for a yuge something in my book.

If they remain socialist in mindset it doesnt help me or you. Ever since wwii they veered hardcore left socialist utopia. They are a fraction of the coutry they used to be after 70+ years of bad socialist state diktats. They are so used to it, way more than we are to our own problems.

I have german french and italian roots/relatives there, but the socialist idiocy of their countries doesnt make me want to have stronger ties to them,as they do mot appear to be giving them up anytime soon.

I dont wax nostalgia about homelands that resemble fascist/socialist run places. England brought in muzzies just like everywere else. They have no go areas like, everyonemelse. Over a million rapes of,british women by muslims and officialy its covered up, like everywhere else due to political correct socialism.

It is madness living under socialism. It why we are purging now. If they can force parliament to vote to leave the eu as the nonbinding referendum vote wants, then i will view them in a deservedly better light.
