Some states allow for mail-in ballots to arrive after Election Day, as long as the ballot has been postmarked by Election Day. No surprise, California’s is pretty liberal: three business days after Election Day. Since Friday was a Federal holiday (Veteran’s Day), they are allowing the ballots to be received by today. It is believed California will start counting them tomorrow.
I’m not sure what Michigan’s policy is for mail-in ballots, although there are the military overseas ballots to be counted. But Michigan has counted nearly all of that state’s ballots. In comparison, California’s mail-in and provisional ballots will account for something in the neighborhood of 30% of that state’s votes.
Wikipedia had it at 306 for Trump earlier today and they changed it to 290!! what’s up with that? Its 306.. he won Michigan!! it’s ridiculous if they haven’t Michigan yet.
Common core math. Since 1=number, and 2=number, 1=2. So they are having problems figgering this out. (This was posted by some astute Freeper awhile back, and I love it!)
They’re still counting because there are warehouses of provisional ballots discovered every day.
I’m still worried they could steal MI. No final word till the end of the month!
Thanks, I saw that after I asked the question.
Yes, they could not accept Mrs. Bill’s loss. Her overconfidence was her apparent undoing. As with Dewey, another transplanted New Yorker, in 1948
Just how close do we think Kildee’s district was in MI in the POTUS race?
Shilly won Genesee by about 18.5K, the other full counties in the district, Bay, Arenec, Iosco seem to cut it to about 5 K, there are also part of Saginaw and little of Tuscola County. Trump won Saginaw County by a hair but the district has the city itself so I’m guessing more rat votes there.
The counts are in. They all had to be finished on Tuesday. What is left is for the counties to certify them and make sure the numbers of voters/ballots match the pollbook. After that, the state certifies it.
The MI-05 only includes overwhelmingly RAT portions of Saginaw County (Saginaw city, Buena Vista township, etc.), and even with Trump winning blue-collar areas there is no way that Hillary didn’t carry that portion of the county. In any event, it looks like Hillary only carried the CD by like 50%-47% or something like that, which is an amazing performance for Trump in such a heavily RAT district.
As I’ve said many times, the heavily RAT parts of the MI-05 should be combined with Lasing and East Lansing (through a land bridge in Shiawassee County) in order to make surrounding CDs more Republican. I hope that the GOP Legislature finally does that after the 2020 Census, which also would allow it to reduce the number of RAT CDs in the Detroit metro area from 4 to 3 (since the MI-08 would be able to absorb lightly Dem and marginal precincts in Oakland and Wayne after being rid of the Lansings).
Glad to hear it.
Pinging for any further news. Anyone?
