On the morning after the election, Alia Ali had a sickening feeling as she headed to her job as a secretary at a New York City public school, her hijab in place as usual. Ali is a Muslim who lives and works in one of the most diverse places in the U.S., and yet the ascension of Donald Trump to the White House left her wondering how other Americans really viewed her. "Half of America voted one way and half of America voted the other, and you're like, 'Which half am I looking at?'" she said. "You become almost like strangers to the people you've worked with. Is this person racist? Do they like me? Do they not like me? Because that's what this election has done."

Feel like Christians under 0bama, babies!
People say Elections have consequences.. Yes, 2008 and 2012 BHO resulted in 2016 Trump and GOP victory!
Scared of what? Loss of jihad?
Bet that Christians feel worse than that in Islamic countries.
I only have one thing to say about that...GOOD! Better them scared now, then US.
I would like to ask this girl — how do your fellow Moslems, in majority Muslim nations such as Saudi Arabia, treat the “infidel”??? How do Muslim societies view Christians or other infidels????? How do your own people view those who do not adhere to Muslim theology?????
Then we can discuss, how your life experiences as a Muslim woman in America compare. Let’s have that discussion.
Obey AMERICAN law, assimilate into AMERICAN culture and there’s nothing to fear.
To show good faith, “Moderate Muslims” may want to start supporting the Republican Party.
Another BS article trying to drum up dischord. To the MSM, CAIR and their leftwing-jihadist allies represent all muslims here. Nonsense. Bet most are glad that Trump will be keeping the terrorists out.
Funny how that works.
Maybe they should take their “gold star” muzzie’s advice and read the U.S. Constitution. It isn’t a suicide note.
Alia, you don’t have to be a Muslim if you don’t want to. Here in America, you cannot be killed for apostasy if you take off that hijab and decide that you can be a decent person without it, that you don’t need the Koran to tell you not to lie, steal, cheat and kill: following American law is enough to keep you on the right path. You can still avoid pork if you want to, but you don’t need to bow toward the colonialist power of the House of Saud anymore. This is a choice. It’s not like skin color or height: you don’t have to be Muslim.
Good
A good start for the Muslims, would be to obey the laws of the land, and stop cheering as Islamic Radicals strike. If they have not been doing that they shouldn’t have too much to fear from Trump.
” “You become almost like strangers to the people you’ve worked with. Is this person racist? Do they like me? Do they not like me? Because that’s what this election has done.””
Get a life, honey, they probably never even give you a thought.

Everything in the press leaves someone “reeling.” I have never “reeled”, ever. Well, fishing at Boundary Waters.
Why fear Trump? if you are not yourself planning or know of others who are planning or have carried out terrorist acts, then no big deal.
The fact is Mosques are weapons depots and war planning centers and Trump is going to kick in the front door.
Maybe Ali could explain what her imam preaches about infidels at the mosque on fridays?
I would like to hear his sermons.
“Bet that Christians feel worse than that in Islamic countries.”
Many of them have no opinion, being dead.
Oddly enough, the ex-USSR “-stans” are among the most tolerant.
That sounds awful. They really should move to a muslim country to be safe.
