Mommy and daddy didn’t even buy me my first computer. I had to buy it myself. Had to take out a loan to do it too!.
But it was a rock’n state-of-the-art IBM 5150 with 64K of RAM and two, count them two, Double Sided Double Density 360K, 5.25” FLOPPY DRIVES. Woo Hoo! and a 300baud manual dial modem and 80cps IBM dot matrix parallel printer. Oh and a Amber graphics monitor.
$3,000 + and I was working in a commercial kitchen at night, and finishing high school in the day. You don’t want to know what I paid for the 10MB external HD I bought later.
Poor Chelsea. The girl has had it rough.
