A Trump Cabinet Dream Team
Washington Times ^ | Nov. 11, 2016 | Kelly Riddell

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

I’ll just say this for starters: I have no idea who President-elect Donald Trump will chose for his Cabinet. Many names have been bantered around by the press, some may come to fruition, others not. Regardless, here are my two cents on what I believe would be an unstoppable Trump administration:

Department of Homeland Security: Texas Rep. Mike McCaul

Mr. McCaul, who is head of the House Homeland Security Committee, has been an avid Trump supporter and has the experience to take on the agency he’s been overseeing. In his speech at the Republican National Convention this summer, Mr. McCaul said Mr. Trump’s presidency would “shake the ground” terrorists walk on and has criticized President Barack Obama’s policy on the Islamic State as being tone-deaf. He has a strong position on Russia, telling Mr. Trump they are “no friends of ours,” and has been at the forefront in calling for increased cybersecurity measures.

Defense: Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions

Mr. Sessions — who has supported Mr. Trump from the beginning — served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserve for 13 years and currently sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee. Being a veteran on Capitol Hill, he can navigate the political waters of the Pentagon better than, say, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, whose name is also being floated.

Attorney General: South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy

He’s interested.

Correct but the Congress can waive, set aside, that requirement!

Funny how we never thought of such a thing when the greatest Secretary of both Defense and State was in office; General of the Army, George C Marshall!

They can repeal the law but there is nothing in the law itself that allows for waiving it.

Nuke the filibuster and have Pence preside over the Senate....and if McConnel comports himself correctly, he can be put back in charge.

That might be alright now but when the dems control the legislature they will just gerrymander them to suit their needs. We need to win the popular vote not try and squirm and try to win elections without it....were does that end up?

Reagan won the Popular vote and the 2nd time around so did Bush.

That may be, but the power of the Metro areas will still be broken. No matter how contorted the gerrymander - whether it gets 50% or 110% - the district still only gets one vote. At least Real America (rural) has a better shot.

We need to win the popular vote
The Electoral Votes are what count. IMO, it will take a long tome to swing the electorate around - especially since the liberals still control print and TV communication and colleges.

I’m with ya. Trump won Florida by 1.3%.

They were trying to steal Broward for Hillary and they got caught, red-handed. God’s intervention.

Had they been allowed to continue to open absentee ballots (Nov. 1) and a new worker not become the whistle-blower (Nov. 4) they would have stolen 29 Electoral Votes.

We can’t afford this, it’s high time to “Stop the Steal.”
