When I was a kid I always wished I had been born some other time because I was always worrying about Russia bombing us with nuclear bombs. I remember getting under the desk for drills thinking it wouldn’t do any good.
Me too.
We never did the desks, we lined the halls, sat down and put our hands over our heads. They called it Tornado drills.
Even in first grade, I remember getting in trouble cause I was looking around. I think I told the penguins that this was stupid and covering our heads wouldn’t do much to stop a tornado.
