The canary in the mineshaft regarding our current dire situation was the showing of Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primaries. In a saner age, Sanders' vote would not have reached double digits but he was supported to the extent that he pushed Clinton all the way for the nomination. It's his socialist-anarchist followers who are now agitating against the election outcome and calling for Trump's assassination.

Trump's victory shouldn't blind us to the desperately sick state of our country nor the possibility that any serious attempt to fix it will result in widespread civil upheaval. I fully expect to see martial law imposed in the near future, so great and so deeply engrained is the lawless mentality in this country now.
