Minnesota is all in now with Hillary winning by not quite 44k votes. Evan McMullin won just over 53k votes. Had those votes gone to the GOP candidate Trump would have trumped Reagan and won Mondale's state. Libertarian and Green votes were greater than the winning margin in multiple states, but at least they had a pre-existing electorate of some sort. McMullin was a purely #NeverTrump creation.
Minnesota results are also an excellent example of gerrymandering at the US House level. Look at the county by county Presidential and House race maps here, most of the red Trump territory is getting blue Reps. Dayton et al have rigged the state to provide 5/8 Rat Reps, whereas reverse gerrymandering might provide only 2 Rats from the Twin Cities. But the GOP has the MN State House under control, and maybe the State Senate, so Dayton will find harder sledding ahead.
Thank you FRiend, I’m basically out at the end of Lyndale, this isn’t really my home but it’s been a long time, I’ve been saying that. I did see the stats later showing McMullin. Kind of amazing, Minnesota is stolen from going red again.
