I just voted.Bucks County PA here.Voted strait R.Had to show ID and there was an armed security guard there. My line was short but the other district line was long.Republican signs beat the Democrat signs 1O to 1.
Huge turnouts and lines everywhere shows me that people are angry: at Hillary, at Comey, at Obama, or just angry, and want to MAGA!
Orange County, CA
Hubby and & I tradition of walking to polls right when they open, breakfast after. This year especially poignant as our 9 month son got his first ‘I Voted” sticker! ha
Line was around the corner at 7am..we then walked to breakfast & line even longer on way back. My husband noted the lines way longer today than past elections. Mix of people voting..on way to work, older and younger voters.
Exciting day!
I dropped off my kids at school this morning which serves as a voting place. No lines at all. I early voted last week and the polling clerk said that my district already voted over 84%, so I am not surprised by the light turn out at the school. I am in SW Austin which is roughly 50/50 Repub/Dem.
Just heard from a poll worker here that reports they are bussing people to polling places in Philadelphia and giving them a Hillary sticker, and either a pack of cigarettes or a cell phone. Has been reported. Don’t know if true or not. Voter ID, please.
I voted early (last Thursday) in Lyon Co., Nevada. Had about a dozen people in line ahead of me, all white middle aged and older, couple of red shirts, couple of Viet Nam vet hats. The ladies said turn out had been heavy since early voting started.
My sister voted last Friday (Washoe Co., Nevada), no lines.
My son voted this morning in Carson City, Co., Nevada. Poll workers were all young well dressed women, people voting were majority gay and Hispanic. He was surprised at the number of Hispanic, his precinct does not have that many. They were not happy to see him in his Oathkeeper uniform.
I just got my hair cut. he’s gay so voted for HC even though he hates her (WTF), BUT....He said his entire family is registered dem and every one of them voted for Trump.
I have several other anecdotes like that that did not happen in 2012/2008 so Trump is going to win this, I just know it.
Southwestern suburbs of Baltimore, MD. A moderate to slightly conservative area. My wife and I have NEVER EVER seen any line at our polling place in the 16 years that we have been voting there. This morning, my wife was there when they opened at 7:00 a.m. Said the line was out the door; took her 40 minutes to get through. She said that there was a higher proportion of blacks and Asians in line than she’s used to seeing. (The district has a fairly high share of Asian residents; not as many blacks.)
I went around 10:00 a.m. Always about 10 people in line, coming in steadily at about the same rate as people were voting and leaving. Almost all middle-aged white people when I was there.
I see two possibilities: (1) the libs are scared that Trump could pull it off, and are voting in higher than normal numbers to block him; or (2) the monster vote is showing itself here in Central Maryland. I don’t know which one to think. All I know is that the turnout in my precinct is way higher than normal.
Most relevant in these discussions, I think, would be reports of heavy turnout in precincts that lean R and light turnout in districts that lean D.
Am I correct?
Rural Iowa, small town and surrounding farm population about 1000-1200. Area went for Cruz in the primaries.
I voted at about 8 am (site opened at 7 am). The ballot box counter already had 26 votes. While voting, a line started to form at the door.
Regarding yard signs, the homes that had in previous elections had Romney, McCain, and other sings had absolutely no signage this year. The only Trump signs were at properties that did not have signage in previous elections. On Main Street, two GIANT highway size trump signs at two adjacent homes. The ‘Trump’ sign homes are working class/working age people.
The homes that in previous years had Republican signs but don’t this year were the old widow church ladies, etc.
Very odd that aside from the Trump signs, there were no signs for other Republicans (senator, congress, state reps, etc). My guess is that Trump is very popular among independents and the apolitical (folks who in previous years wouldn’t care enough one way or the other to stick a sign in the yard). The widow ladies are probably too embarrassed to publicly support Trump (unlike the cardboard cutouts that the GOPe ran in 2008 and 2012). Hopefully they vote for him at the ballot box.
This area reliably votes (R) every election.
The forum, which has been sporadically slow for a few days now, is taking a long time to refresh any page.
Fairly mundane here in NJ. I voted after my morning run (7AM local time)
There were only 4 people in line ahead of me and there was a steady stream coming and going. While that may not sound significant, it’s noteworthy for two reasons:
1) It was early and,
2) While not a heavy turnout last time, I was the only person in the station at 7AM.
I’m in a GOP bastion where I live, but hopefully this is a good sign.
I live in New Castle County, Delaware (northern Delaware, just outside of Wilmington.) I voted earlier this morning. The polling place was very crowded. Since this area is heavily Democrat (Joe Biden lives about 30 minutes from here) I would not interpret the crowded polling place as a good indicator for our side, however, Delaware was never in play to begin with.
South Carolina 8:00 am. From the precinct I can just see the top of Death Valley stadium at Clemson.
20-25 people in line. 70% while males, 30% white females. Middle to late in years.
Saw no black voters and I know it’s an integrated area. Saw black people during the GOP primary.
Drove by several precincts. Some with 100’s of people in line. Mostly male, still haven’t seen a black voter.
Could be the black voters aren’t showing up because Trump is a forgone conclusion in SC, I hope all the black voters voting for Trump make it out and all the voters voting for Hillary stay home on the whole eastern seaboard.
Just voted in Baltimore County, MD. Go Trump!
It took about an hour. No Hillary signs, many Trump signs. Only one Democrat sign for Dutch Ruppersberger next to a Dump Dutch sign. :)
Boyfriend voted this morning in South Jersey. 6:30am, no line. Sister voted absentee. I’m heading out now to vote in Montgomery County, Maryland wearing red! That’s 3 for President Trump!!!
Wife and two kids voted in east Dallas county at 10:00AM. in and out in a jiffy. Wife checked, and she was ballot number 138.
No questionable looking voters. No DOJ monitors.
