Yes, it's called "herding" and Nate Silver was talking about how the pollsters are doing it right now.

Seriously, the ABC/NBC/CBS/Fox polls are all Clinton +4 right now. Has that happened at any other point throughout the entire race, where they all showed the exact same result? No. They are manipulating their final polls to match one another, so they look less bad if they're wrong.

If its not D +7, then of course throw Hillary +4 out of the window.

That’s the downside of “herding” behavior. They can be off in proportion to what kind of people will actually vote.

If the electorate that shows up is mostly Republican/Independent, well then they missed voters they should have screened for.

Did they screen all the voters? We’ll find out soon enough.

I think you're right. FNC was disgusting tonight (with the exception of Sean Hannity, and a couple of other pro-Trump pundits). Larry Sabato, Tom Bevan of Real Clear Politics and Chris Stirewalt all pretty much said the Hildabeast has a 70% chance of winning.

I don't believe them. I just don't see it.

This is an election like none other in my lifetime. I think it could go either way. The only thing I don’t expect is Clinton winning by a large margin.

The networks have an excuse for getting it wrong. They could just say this election was SO different, they really didn’t have a demographic model that was similar to base their polls on.
