I don't know what to think about Comey. Rush predicted this last Monday. He thought the whole reopening was a head fake. I don't think it was. I think Comey did what he did because he was facing a mutiny. But that doesn't explain what he did today.

. If he really was facing a mutiny then all hell should break loose tomorrow. NYPD and the FBI could make a lot of noise. We shall see. Trump started his ascent in the polls before the case was reopened and I expect that will not be affected by today's news.

Both Republicans and Democrats said it would take months to go through emails. Hmmmmm?
Grain the swamp.

FBI Director James Comey informed Congress on Sunday that a review of new emails found in relation to the bureau’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server had not yielded any reason for charges against the Democratic presidential nominee.

Well, that is just about the end for the FBI upper management.

No credibility, no moral compass, no real leadership.

Comey is done, no one will have him around after this double-down sellout.

I wonder what hard evidence will get released directly from the actual investigating Agents that The Beast has proclaimed “probably” not authentic?

.

The FBI did not “clear” Hillary. She is still under criminal investigation per her role in the Clinton Foundation.

Well, to be fair, Comey — for whom, by the way, I have no respect because of how he handled this whole thing — just said that the use of THE PRIVATE SERVER, and e-mails to or from Clinton during her stint as SOS on that private server, did nothing to change his position as set forth on July 5. He made no mention at all of any other servers, or e-mails, or their content, outside of those narrow parameters. For instance, he remained completely silent on the investigation into the Clinton Foundation and the CGI, etc. Anyway, that’s how I read it.

It is highly possible that the fix is in. However, there is that sleeping giant thing, although I am somewhat skeptical of even that now. We may well be truly screwed. Pray.

650000 emails at 1 minute spent on each equals 451.389 days , over a year and we are supposed to believe they actually reviewed these with the scrutiny they deserve. Comey only wanted to reinforce his own farce.

If there is something damning in there hopefully the NYPD leaks it as we know if any members of congress are involved will never see the light of day

Most will still stay away.

I think I said this a few days ago--

"Fasten your seat belts, everyone. It is going to be a wild ride."

There was a great Dummy comment that I totally agree with--"If there are still any undecided voters still out there after this campaign they should donate their brains to science."

The issue under consideration here and the only issue under consideration is the question of possible conviction of a charge related to the National Security breaches with respect to the emails.

It is likely that under the case law, the courts would hold that Intent is required.

But the case law defines intent. Lieing about the emails constituting the breaches; lieing to federal officers generally; destroying evidence (wiping email servers and erasing emails) under the case law clearly proves the element of intent. And Comey knows enough to know that he is wrong.

A prosecutor might legitimately question whether he could get a conviction in this case--a prominent presidential candidate; long term political figure; but for her bad reputation, a clever defense lawyer might well get her off. I doubt it. I think this is just Comey's judgment that she is going to win and he likely gets rewarded for his action.

More important, none of this addresses the real crimes at issue here.

The Clinton Foundation is at the center of a criminal activity to get money in exchange for favorable government action obtained through the vehicle of Mrs. Clinton's political office.

The Crimes are Racketeering; Conspiracy; Obstruction of Justice; Lying to federal officers; bribery. To the extent payor's took, were advised to take, were led to believe they could take, a charitable deduction, Tax Fraud. Maybe tax fraud against the Foundation and its executives. To the extent the payor's were offshore parties seeking action on certain kinds of benefits for enemies, possibly Treason.

A first year lawyer should be able to get convictions on most of those charges.

Those charges were not at issue here. Department of Justice had specifically instructed the FBI the Foundation and related conduct were not to be investigated. It is those charges about which the FBI staff people were most outraged because they were not part of the case and it is not obvious why not.

It is those charges which are particularly disturbing in the context of the political campaign. The conduct underlying those charges demonstrates that the candidate is seeking the office for purposes of personal enrichment contrary to the national interest.

C'mon people...is anyone really surprised that the current USG would clear her imminence just in time to use that clemency as Shrillery's proof that all other findings of criminality are false?

I almost have sympathy for Comey, I'm sure he was an honorable man at some time in the past.
