I actually think that some people that support Hillary at first questioning will stay home or skip voting. Sometimes, trying to persuade or shame them not to vote left is a convincing element that makes them go vote against the conservative even when they hate their candidate.

Trump is an acquired taste.

I try not to push anybody on that. Better to listen. If it's people I trust, or don;t care what they think of my politics, I tell them why I like Trump, and admit that this depends on me "imagining" a person different from Trump-the-teevee-actor.

I figure a few of my acquaintances and extended family are moonbat liberals. I let them rant. It makes them feel better.
