Looking at that ad objectively.... it was just an awful idea! YES, Trump is a pig and disrespectful towards women - any honest person knows that. However, how does it make sense to run a “children are watching” ad, saying how awful it is that kids have to see this vulgar behavior - and place it on the ULTIMATE family TV show - the World Series!?!?!? How stupid.
Also, because it had to be “cleaned up” for TV, it really looked stupid, regardless. Worst waste of money I’ve seen in political advertising.
Lastly, I think the primary effect the ad had was to solidify in voters’ minds that HRC has NOTHING left. This old material is it?!?!?! Wow.
At one time, yes. But this is not the same Trump that you see today. At that time, I don't think Trump realistically ever thought he would run for President. Something changed in him, and that change turned him into the man who believed he could be President and wanted to do the job.
But he's not the hypocrite who will just apologize, and insult our intelligence about it. He owns up to his past.
