Megyn Kelly of the Fox News Channel has emerged as that networks weak link as Fox has fallen behind CNN in the ratings for a full month for the first time since 2001. The October ratings are out and CNN beat Fox News for the first time in 15 years.
CNN enjoyed its strongest ratings month in years in October, beating rival Fox News in the key 25-54 demographic for a full month for the first time since 2001, The Hills Joe Concha wrote. CNN averaged 704,000 prime time viewers overall in October from the ages 25-54 demographic the most coveted group by advertisers. Fox came in second with an average of 663,000 viewers, while MSNBC averaged 432,000 viewers an all-time high for the Comcast-owned network.
While Kellys own program still finished atop cable news in the key 25-54 demographic for the month, CNN beating Fox News overall in primetime in the demo for the first time in over a decade comes as Kelly has emerged as the face as of the network thanks to the honchos in the Murdoch family.
Rupert Murdochs sons James and Lachlan, who have taken over 21st Century Fox, have decidedaccording to a Vanity Fair profile earlier in Octobermake Kelly the future of the network. And as theyve rallied entirely behind Kelly, after Kelly made a move to oust Roger Ailes as the chairman of the company
Kelly has also emerged as the networks leading anti-Donald Trump voice, using her platform to try to disparage the Republican presidential nominee and his supporters. The highest profile spat, which came last week, was a battle she had with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich over former President Bill Clintons alleged sexual assaults and alleged rapes.

The Murdoch kids have finally, fully taken over and we are seeing early signs of the results. Fox will turn into another “mainstream” network and will fall back in the pack.
I’ve been doing Nielsen all week and made a point not to watch Megyn!...or Shep or Brit Hume.
Same with the rest of the MSM but a bunch get ridiculous money.
[and look for Sean Hannity, O Reilly, etc over at Trump TV]
O’Reilly??? No thank you!!!
Yes.
I will definitely watch Megyn a few mins Tht night.
I haven’t found OAN on DirecTV, so Fox is (was) my only TV news source that didn’t irritate me excessively. I wonder if Fox is just unaware how many people change channels whenever they switch to live coverage of Hitlery or Ozero. I literally can’t grab the remote fast enough, and they’ve lost me until whatever other channel I switch to goes to a commercial. Those “anchors” in my list are now having the same channel-hopping effect on me.
Actually you’re right. It will be more fun to watch the other alphabet networks say that.
Megyna’s worth $20,000,000 a year? For WHAT?
Really, for WHAT?
People bitch about CEOs getting $500,000.
Fox's "The Kelly File" finished first in the 25-54 demographic in show rankings, followed by Foxs The OReilly Factor. CNN's Anderson Cooper 360took third in the category, with Foxs "Hannity" fourth and MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" fifth.
Megyn Kelly has caused me to turn off Fox News so many times I don’t even watch it anymore.
Megyn is asking Rupert for $20 million annual salary. Good luck with that, babe.
And, do us all a favor, and drag (haha) Shep with you when you go.
Well, one also has to admit that she did make Donna Brazile squirm when she asked about the stolen debate question, and this was before the second email came out.
Whatever. I haven’t watched Faux News in years and it has nothing to do with blondes...
I haven’t watched Kelly since her attack Interview on D.Trump so long ago. I just fill her time slot from my copied programs. It’s much easier on my Nervous system..
She’s not pretty, and it’s what’s on the inside that counts ... and in her case, not pretty at all
When Kelly pulled her stunt at the first debate I cancelled not just Fox News, but cable TV completely and told the cable company why.
Now OAN is streaming on Amazon Fire TV.
OANN is worth it. KlowdTV is free until 2017. It’s Fox Version 3.0. They are reporting everything - all of it.
That’s the difference - they are simply covering the news that is out there and it is 10 times better.
Oh, and they do have another difference. NBC has ‘The More You Know’ segments where some actor preaches to you about how you should live.
OANN has a small segment that covers Constitutional Amendments, the background behind them, and what they mean to the average American.
Just saw their segment on the 11th Amendment. Interesting and refreshing. Fox is dead. Whether Fox Business survives is another question.
Cutting the cord has been interesting. Haven’t figured out the sports end of it yet, but I’m getting there.
That says more about you than it says about Kelly.
