Great comment. But I do not believe for a second that James Comey will announce an indictment three days before the election unless there are absolute bombshells in these emails.

Agreed; however, working backwards, I don't think the e-mails are brought to his attention unless there are bombshells, and I don't think he pursues it unless he knows there are bombshells.

Whoever Comey is listening to now is one smart cookie, and is one step ahead of the DOJ and Clinton Campaign. Supposedly both Abedin and Weiner, the owners of the laptop, are cooperating completely with the investigation and have given the FBI permission to search the laptop for e-mails relating to the HRC investigation. So why did Comey request a warrant from the DOJ? So he could plead ignorant when Lynch asks him what is so dang important in those emails that he needs to re-open the investigation. If he tells Lynch that he's already seen incriminating emails due to Weiner giving him permission to look, then Lynch can say "Oh, do tell". He can't withhold information from his boss when he just told her he had it, but if he tells her, then that gives her an opportunity to (a) tip off the Clinton Campaign what the FBI has and (b) figure out a way to kill the FBI investigation. So, instead, he tells Lynch, "Hey, I've been informed metadata shows emails pertinent to the Clinton case on Weiner's laptop. I need to re-open investigation". Lynch says "Well, what exactly do you have?" Comey says, "Sorry, boss, I don't know exactly. That's why we need a warrant so we can find out."

Then in the next 3 days with many agents working around the clock, they find as much incriminating evidence as they can. Lynch will be constantly asking for an update, while he can continue to say "Nothing yet, but we are still looking as quickly as possible". Then, early Friday he tells Lynch "I will have a press conference at Noon today. You might want to turn on the TV about that time".
