FBI To Scour Through 650,000 Emails Found On Weiner's Laptop
ZeroHedge ^ | October 30, 2016

Posted on 10/30/2016 12:47:07 PM PDT by Zakeet

Yesterday, we reported that the FBI has found "tens of thousands of emails" belonging to Huma Adein on Anthony Weiner's computer, raising questions how practical it is that any conclusive finding will be available or made by the FBI in the few days left before the elections

Now, according to the WSJ, it appears that Federal agents are preparing to scour roughly 650,000 emails that, as we reported moments ago were discovered weeks ago on the laptop of Anthony Weiner, to see how many relate to a prior probe of Hillary Clinton’s email use, as metadata on the device suggests there may be thousands sent to or from the private server that the Democratic nominee used while she was secretary of state, according to people familiar with the matter.

As the WSJ adds, the review will take weeks at a minimum to determine whether those messages are work-related emails between Huma Abedin, a close Clinton aide and the estranged wife of Mr. Weiner, and State Department officials; how many are duplicates of emails already reviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and whether they include either classified information or important new evidence in the Clinton email probe, which FBI officials call "Midyear."

And, as we further reported earlier today, the FBI has had to await a court order to begin reviewing the emails, because they were uncovered in an unrelated probe of Mr. Weiner, and that order was delayed for reasons that remain unclear.

The punchline: the months of upcoming work means that if Clinton wins the White House, she will likely do so amid at least one ongoing investigation into her inner circle being handled by law-enforcement officials who are deeply divided over how to manage such cases. It also means that Trump will be hounding HIllary for the remainder of the campaign as being the only presidential candidate to seek election with a recently reopened criminal probe hanging over her head.

There is no way they could’ve gathered that many emails without intent and purpose to scoop up emails outside of the ones they directly sent and received.

**************

I agree with you. The sheer volume of emails suggests they were preparing to exploit their vast hoard of information for some nefarious purposes.

However, I disagree that this will bring down the entire government. They will circle the wagons because they are all complicit and fearful of being exposed. Look for a cover up of massive proportions. The mother-of-all cover ups.

That is way more emails than an individual should have had on a personal device. This is starting to look like it my be Muslim Brotherhood espionage by Huma Abedin.

Except Huma looks to be in tears when they finally left the plane and Hillary looks as though she’s seriously reconsidering the relationship.

I doubt Huma is that dumb. She’s been delegated to handle all electronic communications for Hillary for years. She’s no newbie.

Personally, I vote for 1)Huma is a spy and 2) she watched enough TV to have figured out she might need leverage someday. Oh, and 3) her husband used a laptop that was supposedly destroyed thinking it would give him space to continue his hobby.

This could be an episode of Blacklist. Wonder what Hillary’s arch-criminal number is on Reddington’s list? 666?

Why not just wait for the wikileaks drops, they will have done the work for them.

******************

You got it! The FBI “discovery” is just a cover story to make them look like they are not reacting to Wikileaks. The serious dumps will start on Nov 1, which is why Comey made his announcement this Friday. Wikileaks forced his hand and he wanted to beat them to the punch.

Make no mistake about it. He is still working for Hillary, which is also why he informed congress on a Friday. It bought Hillary a weekend before the Monday news cycle starts up again.

We will never see the content of the FBI emails but we will see what Wikileaks puts out. Those drops are the ones that matter.

If this mail client was synced to Hillary’s server it would have every email sent to, and from Huma. I am sure there are tons of cc’s, and bcc’ some.

I bet the lawyer business in DC is booming tonight!

The FBI just needs to find one single email (with links to Clinton) marked “Classified”. There’s no reason to study every single email — just do a search on “Classified”.

On second thought, don’t file charges until Trump is inaugurated. No Obama pardon :)

He can still do a blanket pardon for any offense she may have done up to that time.

Technically he can pardon once a crime has been committed. But I can’t imagine Hillary is going to just admit it.

Nov 1st. Right after Halloween, how appropriate!

I wonder if they will start October 31 around midnight?

Hopefully a few damaging emails will get out from the NYPD before the 8th. You can be sure that Comey will delay anything until after the election. Then his ars is done and he knows it. His only hope is the HRC will win the election and he will be protected. Washington is a real cess pool of the worst shi! America has ever seen.

Trump for President.

Late to the party on this thread - but I am not understanding something.

Is there an email service that actually stores email on the local machine?

I know Yahoo! doesn't. I know Lotus Notes doesn't. I'm pretty sure gmail doesn't.

All that stuff is up on a server and if I can't get a connection then I have NO email on my laptop. Nada. nothing.

So how is this all possible, this 650,000 Emails Found On Weiner's Laptop?

So how is this all possible...?

Hillary's was a Microsoft Exchange server. These store emails on the server but also download them to the clients' mailboxes (typically Microsoft Outlook) stored locally, so the users can work offline. A copy of the user's mailbox is therefore kept locally and synchronized upon connection with the master copy on the server.

The user can also make a manual local copy for archive purposes by merely clicking on the folder and selecting "Export To". This can be kept separately or mounted as a separate mailbox at need.

Free online mail services such as Hotmail or Gmail don't work that way - you can still download and save an archive copy manually but typically the email isn't cached locally. Hope that helps.

“No way Huma and Weiner by themselves wrote 650,000.”

It would take many people many years to write that many emails. Or the entire government over a period of four years.

As sensitive as this laptop appears to be, it’s interesting that Clinton didn’t have a U-Haul with a big magnet inside to destroy the hard drive while it was in the evidence locker...

...my sympathies to anyone here who didn’t get the Breaking Bad reference.
