Christopher and Heather Dempsey found they had a bond that went beyond the major medical procedure they shared.
Just under two years ago, Christopher Dempsey made the brave decision to donate half his liver to a stranger and save her life.

Perhaps, “I gave you my heart, you stole ma liver”?
From what I understand, the liver is the only organ that can regenerate. So I guess it would regrow.
Wonderful story!
For some reason the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this story was a line from “The Gauntlet” with Clint Eastwood.
“...the next thing you know...somebody’s dachshund is nipping at your pancreas.”

Thank you so much for posting. In all the muck and mud of today’s news stories, this one gave me goosebumps. Faith in humanity restored, for a little while.
It took a chunk of a LIVER for a dude with that head to land the hot blonde.
Hayes Carll. Damn great song. Listen to it loud.

Flowers, Dinner, Movie, Liver?
“Can we have your liver then?
All right, you talked me into it.”
My first thought was - Hannibal Lecter, “A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.”
A lot of guys would give their left one. He went a step further.
That is some serious stalking. I always quit after 2 unanswered phonecalls.....
