Good take. I do agree that he is still a fix-it man, and if we believe hist story, names were in fact removed from the published story.

He is also intelligent, and his motive for protecting sources or clients may be longer term, not hired or paid for directly.

I think the story, in combination with Trump's denials, will have the effect of moving on to a new manufactured issue. The shady world of sex and blackmail that drives a good part of our entertainment and political circles will continue status quo.
