I avoided it when I heard about it, but I relented and just watched it a couple of times. It is actually very subversive, in a good way. The first time I watched it, I thought Hanks was playing stereotype of a Trump supporter from the perspective of the wealthy New York whites, and he kind of is. But it was also written by Michael Che, a black comedian who is very good, and much more perceptive about race than most. The perspective of the skit is not from upper class whites, but from showing that blacks and Trump supporters have a whole lot more in common than people think. It ends up positive towards Trump and conservatives, and shrugs off the rich white perspective as irrelevant.
