The very word "gay" - which I refuse to use - is a term of propaganda. In fact, I've even come to consider the term "homosexual" - used as a noun - to be a kind of propaganda. To call someone "a homosexual" is to define that person as a specific kind of being, rather than as a person who chooses to engage in certain kinds of behavior. We do not call a person "a thief" because he is tempted to steal, but only if he actually steals.
Someone might say, "But what if a person has homosexual tendencies? That makes him a homosexual whether he acts on it or not."
Well, we all have "tendencies" for this or that undesirable behavior - to steal, perhaps, or to fornicate, or to commit adultery, or drink heavily, or to express anger, or to gamble, or to make fun of people, and the strength of those tendencies varies from person to person. The problem is not so much the tendencies, but our yielding to them, and then - the last step - actually defining ourselves by them. I'm not pretending it's easy, and we all fail some of the time, but when we define ourselves by our "tendencies", and then even boast of them, we are in very bad shape.
