How could farmers possibly compete with all that food aid pouring in?
How about going back to first principles? Is there one brave soul in Gaza to report that Hamas’ goal is destruction, not creation or productivity? Therefore, they are reaping exactly what they have sowed. How sad for innocent people who are happy to live near a productive economy like Israel's. And how lucky for Arabs now co-existing in Jerusalem, left in peace to earn a living. Israel only attacks when attacked. Very simple first principle.
I bet Abu is a real stand up guy.
A shame if they don’t get a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables — completely throws off their in the Matzah.
Muslims failing at something. This is news?
The only thing they’re reasonably good at is blowing themselves up. Don’t even get that right some of the time.
Decrapio and Al Whore to blame it on Global Warming in 3..2..1
my give a damn meter is broke when it comes to Gaza and the Palestinians.
You mean free food distorts the market and forces domestic producers out of business? Supply and demand isn’t just theory? Math works? Who’d a thunk it?
Here’s a quarter, call someone who cares to support, aid, abet terrorists, and stand and shake their fist at The Lord.
Call OPEC. Bye, Bye!
“How could farmers possibly compete with all that food aid pouring in?”
The food aid is for things like rice or grain. The farmers grow fresh vegetables and fruits and some livestock. The farmers then don’t compete with the food aid providers. They compliment one another in terms of what they put on the table.
When Israel left Gaza, they left fully operational greenhouses. The moslems destroyed them. The tough love approach to Gaza would be to cut add aid and let them figure it out for themselves.
Eff the pigastinians.
Maybe it was a bad idea to destroy all the greenhouses left by the departing Israelis.
You can control a population by destroying their self sufficiency, making them depend on you for food, and then cutting them off at some point in the future pocked by you, and then blaming the Israelis.
You get crying babies for the cameras, skinny children throwing rocks, raging teenagers....every thing else you want to fuel a PR campaign at any critical moment that pops up.
Since Gaza doesn’t supply any of its own electricity or irrigation water, any crops it does manage to produce come at Israel’s good graces.
And BOTH Israel and Egypt enforce boycotts against this shytstain of a “country.”. So don’t blame the Israelis.
Atlas shrugged.
It seems that all they need to do is oust Hamas and install a government dedicated to peaceful coexistence with its neighbors.
As the famous quote (attributed to Golda Meir, but not verifiable) goes: Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us. (read more: http://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/1.661263.)
Once again blame the Jews
Why would they oust Hamas? The terrorist-supporting civilian population voted them into office on their promise to kill more Jews faster than Fatah. They deserve their misery.
