Sorry you have had to put up with all of this.
I had a conversation with my daughter and a couple of her friends recently. And they concluded that I don’t know what it’s like to be a girl. One of the girls said she gets hassled by men all the time, and I had to concede that I have never been so hassled by women, when I’m out in public, just going about my business.
Not to excuse the boorish behavior of some men. I don’t know if that behavior is worse nowadays than before. As noted, as a man, I would never have experienced being a woman and being the target of unwanted attention from men.
I have not had to suffer much “hassle” from men over the years. I never dressed provocatively. I took care not to go sketchy places or wander around alone at night. I only occasionally got drunk and then not falling down drunk.
So I do acknowledge that there are women who are assaulted in one fashion or another but I think a lot of women could avoid it. For example there was a woman on Hannity the other day who was telling her story of being a cub reporter in a small station in Ark when BClinton was gov. Evidently he cornered her in a small room twice and rubbed on her until... you know - twice this happened. Now once, maybe - but twice???? I’m not saying she liked it but I would have been screaming bloody murder!!! And pushing and hitting and anything short of that would have only been because I was unconscious.
“I dont know if that behavior is worse nowadays than before.”
Women have ALWAYS been vulnerable.
I remember two specific incidents that happened to me in the fifties———frightening.
Sixty years later and I still recall them.
