One theory is that his early tweet telling his “supporters” that they had made their point, he was referring ironically to the NSA which is behind the DDoS.

As a followup, he tweets that the Obama administration used the instruments of state (NSA) to shut down criticism.

It also sounds like an implied threat to the administration that they have invited him to release something they don’t want public.

I think you’re right. Why would his supporters shut down one of the tools (Twitter) he uses to get his message out? IDK

The wording is very cryptic (by design, I think) and can be interpreted several ways.

I take it as a response to John Kerry pressuring Ecuador to cut off Assange’s internet access. I.e., “you cut off our access, we’re going to cut off yours”.
