I’ve never been made to vote provisionally. The poll workers actually know me, because I vote in nearly every election, and I have an unusual address.
My 86 year old father in NC voted absentee ballot for Trump on his death bed and died three days later. So if any of you lazy Trump supporters out there have not voted than get out there!
I wore my hillary for prison shirt to the fair last Sat. As for my expectations, I figured negative. But, ALL the reactions were to the POSITIVE! There were lots of distant thumbs up & smiles while pointing. I spoke to well over 100 random fairgoers. Many talked about how they are converting their freinds. Many talked about how the witch is giving away OUR country. Time to say NO MORE! The witches evil is really beginning to seep out. She’s melting...

I agree that making someone vote provisionally is not widespread, but they are getting bolder and bolder.

I’ve been a poll watcher and a poll worker just to see how it is done. My spouse also poll watched and ran into various incidents. Not doing it this time though.
We live in Durham which is a Democratic county, so there will be more problems here than other areas of the state. Easier to get away with it in Dem counties.
One other thing about NC is that we do have a paper trail in case an election is contested. The ballots are counted and should be the same number as the digital number. This still allows for software/hardware sabotage, but the paper trail helps.
Some states do not keep a paper trail.

I had a similar experience wearing my Proudly Deplorable shirt around the farmers market and just running. Those opposed said nothing but I got a lot of positive comments waves and nods.
We will stay around town this weekend and will wear our shirts again...
Decided to try again. Waited this time. Took less than 30 minutes including parking.
Lots of Dems. You can tell by who takes the campaign literature from the Democratic volunteers, but this is Durham so expected.
paper is easy to cheat.
The first person is a throwaway vote and comes out with the paper ballot.
The fixer fills in the paper ballot.
The next person takes in the filled paper ballot, votes via scan and brings out their blank paper ballot.
The fixer pays for the blank ballot and the process repeats.
