About that time I was at a big annual party and encountered someone I had known for years. She wanted to chat me up and be friendly but I had learned that she had had several abortions. My position on that issue was not yet fully formed but I knew I wanted nothing to do with her.

Please see my previous post. It’s a feeling.... Even before you are politically aware.

Good for you.

I know of a teacher (taught small children, private lessons, not a classroom school teacher). She wanted to know why some of her pupils had their parents approach her and cancel their lessons. Was it her technique, something about her teaching methods? She was married and childless and mentioned at one point having an operation to get rid of "excess tissue" which I took to mean an abortion. I gathered that the kids/parents picked up on some bad vibe from her and found a reason to quit seeing her. Little kids aren't stupid, and they are very sensitive.
