Haven’t read much on this one but the Brock Turner case was a prime example of people changing laws for the worse based on simply reading headlines.
Nobody actually had hard evidence that Brock wasn’t telling the truth and that is one of the many reasons he didn’t get a full sentence. But since he was considered automatically guilty because he was a white man who was accused of rape and didn’t get the sentence that people ‘felt’ was right, now the legal system has less flexibility and must bring the hammer down on everybody no matter the circumstances.
Can you please elaborate why Brock shouldn’t have been thrown at him? Honestly curious, I have not a single piece of evidence that would lead me to believe he shouldn’t be in PYITA federal prison for a very, very long time, but if you care to enlighten...
