Arm chair quarterbacking but I really wish Trump or any Republican candidate would bring up the fact that raising taxes on the so-called “rich” (aka $250,000+ according to Cankles) hurts many small business owners who may report that amount as adjusted gross income but make nowhere near that in net income, if they make anything at all. The crooks have created a terrible tax and regulatory environment that has actually suppressed SMB creation. The rich fat cats have whole accounting and legal departments to lower their effective tax rates; SMBs do not.

I know because my wife and I are small business owners. And yes, the feds taking anywhere from 10 to 15% a year from us would make a huge difference in our financial well-being.

Just me, but I favor no income tax, no business tax, and only sales tax. If you buy something, then you pay the tax.

All at the same rate.

If you buy more, then you’ll pay more.

However, considering I’ll never see that in my lifetime, I suppose the next best would be a tax rate of about 20% on everybody. I don’t see the point in some paying nothing. Nor do I see the point in some paying for everyone else.

I would take all expenses directly off the top of ANY income, so that I’d only tax PROFITS for both individuals and businesses.

Armchair Quarterbacking is what FR is for. ;-)

My #1 takeaway from the debate is that Hillary! is going to spend more money. Some of it might be worthy, some not. But, in the end, someone has to pay for it. Who?

Meanwhile, Trump is going to lower taxes, particularly on corporations, and provide incentives for them to bring money that's currently stashed overseas back into the USA.

So, technically, Hillary is correct (lowering taxes on corporations and "rich" people) ...BUT... What does she think that the corps and the rich will do with the money? Burn stacks of $100 bills to heat their mansions? Of course not, they'll invest in more jobs, more equipment, more assets to grow their companies so they can make MORE money, hire MORE people, etc etc etc.

She's no fool, though. Class warfare sells well, particularly among the stupid and envious.
