Westwood One has announced it will begin syndicating conservative talker Chris Plante nationally from 9am-12pm eastern beginning Monday, January 2, 2017.
Plante has worked at Cumulus 630 WMAL Washington DC/105.9 WMAL-FM Woodbridge VA since 2005 and has been syndicated internally on additional Cumulus stations the past few years. Prior to joining WMAL, Plante spent 17 years as a reporter at CNN.
PRESS RELEASE follows: Westwood One today announced that it will launch The Chris Plante Show, featuring conservative talker Chris Plante, on Monday, January 2, 2017. The program will emanate from its flagship station, Washington, DCs WMAL 105.9 FM/AM 630, from 9 am 12 noon ET.
Plante, known for his conservative values, will bring his daily political talk show to radio stations nationwide. The Chris Plante Show insightful, irreverent, and always entertaining weaves pop culture references throughout the discussion of the topical news of the day.
A third-generation media pro, Plante began his radio career at WMAL in 2005 after 17 years inside the Washington bureau at CNN, where he moved up the ranks from researcher and assignment editor to Pentagon correspondent. During his tenure at CNN, he crisscrossed the globe, covering events from Vietnam and Albania to Jakarta. He was the director of the U.S. television network pool operations in Saudi Arabia for three months following Saddam Husseins 1990 invasion of Kuwait.
Plante won the Edward R. Murrow Award from the RTDNA for his live coverage of the terrorist attack on the pentagon on September 11th, 2001. He was the first to report that the Pentagon had been attacked. He was also recognized by the Television Academy for his September 11th reporting. He makes regular appearances on The Fox News Channel and The Fox Business Network.
Plante follows in the footsteps of his maternal grandfather, Pat Barnes, who was a radio pioneer in New York and Chicago in the 1920s and 1930s following his return from Europe after World War One. His mother, father, and several brothers have also made careers in broadcasting and journalism. His stepfather is esteemed CBS News correspondent Bill Plante.
Plante said, I cant wait to engage with new audiences around the country, where I will continue to rattle the cages of the high and mighty and share the unfiltered truth in this incredibly treacherous time. It is a great honor to be invited into your community, where I hope to become a welcome guest in your daily lives. And remember, just because the wheels are coming off everywhere you look, that doesnt mean you cant laugh your face off about it.
Chris Plante takes the news of the day and breaks it down in his signature direct, funny, and fearless style, said Suzanne Grimes, President, Westwood One and EVP, Corporate Marketing, Cumulus. He engages a legion of devoted fans who tune in every day whether they agree with him or not. Hes a captivating storyteller who makes great radio. Its the kind of programming we are proud to add to our best-in-class talk lineup.

Great news, especially if we can catch him on a Knoxville station. He used to be on 98.7, but was replaced with some inane local duo who are dreadful.
Only if you've never listened.
Chris Plante is the best. Listen to him on WMAL.com.
His work at CNN was military correspondent overseas, He was at the Pentagon on Sept 11, 2001. Deep supporter of our military.
Previous owners of WMAL sacked because of his exposures of CASA Maryland, a LaRaza cover op.
He constantly mocks the liberal left using their own words against them.
So yeah, he’s got the creds. Only reason to listen to WMAL lineup.
BTW...his callers provide surprising humor
one of my favs...”he read the tea leaves on the wall...”
Although I supported him longer than most here on FR, I can no longer stomach the daily 3-hour Trump bashing sessions his show has become. Beck tightens the noose around his neck a little every day.
A couple of months ago, I canceled my Blaze subscription, but I would tune in for a few minutes to see what he was talking about. Seems like it’s “No Trump, All the Time” now, and I can’t take it anymore.
IMO, it IS a binary choice this time, and we cannot allow an unindicted felon and her ‘alleged’ rapist husband to return to the White House!
Trump 2016 or forever hold your peace...
...Chris Plante is the best. ...
9am to noon...another nail in the Glen Beck flat tire.
Great ! Been listening to Chris ( via podcast ) here in Japan for a couple of years now . Superb bumper music thanks to Mike McKay !
Great news! I used to listen to Chris when I lived in Northern Virginia. Maybe he will pop up on a station near Austin, TX.
Listen for ten minutes and you’ll figure it out. I try to time my business travel to DC so I can catch his show.
His best line: “Democrats sure have it good” when they get caught and ignored doing stuff that would destroy a Republican. Like dumping a human waste tank on a fully marked campaign bus into the street.
“The most insidious power the media has, is the power to ignore.”
630 WMAL PING!
Good for Chris. Well deserved!
Great! Now they need to get him on SiriusXM.
This great! Really enjoy Chris Plante.
Hooray! Chris is one of the best and deserves it!
I’m so happy for Chris and for America! :^)’
Finally....
Obviously, you have never listened to him. Once you do there will be no doubt.
Why are you talking about Beck on a Chris Plante thread? This makes it sound like you have a beef with Chris, which you should not.
I am looking forward to sampling Chris Plante. I mentioned Beck because others had before me. Is that so hard to figure out?
Sheesh...
Look, your email appeared to me and the rest of the viewers of the thread as if you were bashing Chris. Chris is a solid Trump supporter. All you had to do is refer to Beck in your post and there would not have been an issue. Is that so hard to understand? (Nice Freepmail by the way. Your parents, spouse, kids et al must be so proud. /s)
