And yes, Chelsea, is a horrific writer. It almost looks as if she writes something, and then uses a thesaurus, and simply substitutes words. It's unnatural, the way she writes. Most people will use the word that most accurately passes the meaning of what is being said - she doesn't.

She probably has an inferiority complex thanks to her mom’s alpha behavior and also because she knows the people she’s dealing with are well-established staffers... so she may be trying to overcompensate for her shortcoming by boosting the syllable count : the greater the ratio of high-syllable words to low-syllable words, the greater will be the impression of experience.
