Vice President Joe Biden said Monday he's upset that some people have lost their faith in government, but said curing cancer would help reverse that.

"It disturbs me for the first time in my career ... some of the American people are no longer of the view that we can do anything," Biden said while discussing his cancer "moonshot" task force's report that he delivered to President Obama on Monday.

That’s not really true. Interferon has cured melanoma, Gleevec makes some leukemias chronic rather than deadly.
Look at Jimmy Carter recently. There have been advances...although they are the exception so far.

The government needs to find a cure for liberalism.

Just when you thought your faith in government couldn’t get any lower.

“Faith” is never to be placed in government.

Well, Joe, the government obviously hasn’t cured brain damage yet.

You have to reverse global warming before you can cure cancer. [/sarc]

I may be a minority of one, but I do not believe it is the government’s role to “cure cancer”.

Bingo! You nailed it. It’s all about money. Same as the “climate change” bowel movement. Money money money.

“...but said curing cancer would help reverse that. “

I’m still waiting on that AIDS vaccine Bill Clinton was going to come up with.

The only CANCER that needs to be removed is the festering tumor on Lady Liberty’s ass.

Let’s give the poor guy some credit. After 8 years of Obama he admits Americans have no faith in government. It faceplanted on Obamacare. It took a mildly horrible Middle East and unleashed a poop-storm there. It ruined jobs. It ruined the middle class. It removed affordable older cars from the marketplace. It shuttered numerous green energy boondoggles after taking our money. It squandered victory in Iraq. It is on the brink of war with Russia over some sand piles in Syria.

I’d say he got it exactly right. But sadly for him, even curing the big C won’t make people have faith in it again.

Wonder why dumbass Biden didn’t say ‘cure the common cold’ instead. Guess a common cold doesn’t have the grunt cancer does. Any bets he tries to say he raised funds to cure cancer after this? Wouldn’t put it past him or any slick-ass democrat...

If you could keep the damn feds and their bureaucracies out of the way cancer would have probably been cured already.

I know that government can do a lot, as they demonstrate daily, but most of that is both immoral and unconstitutional. If they want to restore my faith, they can try obeying the Constitution. Otherwise, curing cancer would not help at all in restoring trust, respect, affection, or even tolerance.
