Few voters are dealing with relaible facts, they deal with "media facts," which are falsehoods. Example: Trump is a bigot, see Curiel, Khan. They also vote for what they think is in their best interest, which is more or less a "lottery mentality" decision. Blacks vote for status quo, becuase they get government money, and don't want to lose that.
Very few people, maybe 20%, are capable of steely-eyed rational thought, and for the most part, choosing between the candidates gets less thought than choosing what to have for lunch today.
