The dirty secret is that for many middle age liberal tenured college professors, both male and female, preying sexually on students is one of the perks of the job. They enjoy the acting out their fantasies with the flavor of the month while publicly expressing indignation at the Republican war on women, gays, minorities, etc.
I am a 54 year old professor and I have NEVER messed with any female coed since I started 27 years ago. To this day, my office door stays wide open at all times. I have worked too hard to get where I am today. Many of my students today are the children of the students who were around me when I first started.
Having said that, over the years I have heard rumors of some transgressions and remember of one prof in my area of study (Agriculture) at another Midwestern University who lost his job to this very issue.
This may be more common in the business and humanities.
