If they threatened to take his (adopted) children away, would that render the decision as being made ‘under duress’?

And hence invalid?

Of course. The problem with Justice Roberts is that he broke the law in the adoption process. Exposing that could cost him the children. But I also think if the threat is removed, by not electing Hillaroid and by default continuing the perceived threat, he still has to feel reserved knowing that that shoe could drop at any other time..
