Debating whether my 12 year old son and I should skip homeschool co-op today and go to the Trump rally in Lakeland instead.
We homeschooled our three kids up to about high school. Other than lots of reading and treating them with honesty, we did a half-baked job of educating them. Maybe 5 hours a week, on average, over the course of 10 years. How did they do in school? Excellent! Shocked me, actually. I figured they'd have an age/education disadvantage.
Kids (and adults) learn very fast, on a situational basis. I learned more in 3 months on the job than I did in 4 years of engineering, by way of concrete example. I needed the education background, but basically NONE of what I did on the job depended on what I had learned in school. I needed the ticket to get the job.
I wish I could take your place but I live in NC...

Are you serious? Of COURSE go to the rally! What could be more educational than having your child involved in such a historical election? Go, go, go!

Definitely go to the rally. The excitement, energy, patriotism. Nothing like a good field trip to break up the school week.
Going to Lakeland...the heck w/ homeschooling, this election is IMPORTANT...
yes go. This is worth a lot for a homeschooled kiddo who is leagues ahead of his contemporaries already
What?! Are you kidding?!
I home-schooled years ago.
You can catch up one day of lessons ANYTIME. You would have a much more difficult time having Trump swing by on a weekend so you can hear him and be a part of history!
