When it first broke I suspected it was Romney/Ryan/Bush with Mitt being the ringleader.
I saw McMullen (Mitt’s stand-in) in an interview several weeks ago. They kept asking him why he was in the race when he stood no chance at all of winning. He said he was in it to keep Trump from winning.
I gathered from that interview that their plan was to keep anyone from getting enough electoral votes so the choice would be up to the House (Paul Ryan).
Then when they finally figured out Trump was winning they had to go with the nuclear option. Hence the tape.
I think Ryan is in on it because I think Romney/Bush are the big players. Falwell kept saying the last 4 to 6 years but he could have just been talking about Ryan.
