Agree with what you say. I am a ‘cradle’ Episcopalian. After the Episcopal church went off the Left wing deep end, I then considered myself a traditional Anglican. Now am just fed up with all organized religion and their endless sausage-making. My church didn’t even miss me for months until the quarterly pledge receipts report was being prepared and there was a big Zero by my name. Then the phone calls came. “Where are you?”...which really meant “Where is your money?”
“Where are you?...which really meant Where is your money?”
No kidding! In the Mormon Church, paying your tithing, your Ward Mamteance Budget, and a whole host of other “fees,” is the determining factor in your being able to get a “recommend” to go to one of their temples. It used to pi$$ me off to no end when as a kid )my parents forced me to go, even though they didn’t), when some fat bastard whose gut was hanging over the pulpit, started telling us all about the evils of drinking and smoking (part of their “Word of Wisdom”) while completely ignoring the dietary protocols in that same tome.
