As bad as hurricanes are in August/September, those late in the season hurricanes/tropical storms can be just as bad. Tropical Storm Sandy in October was no day at the beach.

Evacuating centers are full & closing. In Jacksonville, the wind is pushing tidal flooding into St. John’s River. We have not been impacted by Hurricane Matthew yet.
The weatherman just said the eye of storm wobbled a little to the east side of zone. but, did not turn

You must be looking at some other Hurricane Matthew....

Well, the surf doesn’t look all that rough, the pier is fine, no waves cresting high enough to break over it. The wind’s not even blowing too much. They don’t appear to be in any danger, to me, unless the storm is incoming at that location rather than moving away. I believe it’s moving away, am I wrong?

Surfers can be crazy SOBs. A college buddy was a FL surfer, and he wasn’t, but some of his friends were.

>>3 of my children work for WalMart which has issued closings.
The real question is Where are the Waffle Houses closed?
That’s where the serious disaster relief needs to go. Not kidding.
