At this moment, the eye is at its closest approach to Ft. Lauderdale and is now moving north of us. Therefore, the winds should continue to diminish.

I'm trying to follow your assertion that the eyewall was within 30 miles or so of either a) your location about ten miles inland from Ft. Lauderdale Beach, or b) 30 miles from Ft. Lauderdale Beach.

The eye of Hurricane Matthew is moving NW, and is very near Freeport Bahamas, which is about 94 miles from Ft. Lauderdale. We would have to assume that the eyewall is 60 miles across to achieve a 30 mile distance from Ft. Lauderdale. Is this correct?

I hope you can see why it is difficult to reconcile your assertion that the storm was only 30 miles from Ft. Lauderdale at 1530 ET, as described in the video you posted multiple times.
