Not entirely true. Even a 80 mph tornado is carrying a debris field with it. And 80 mph moving in a circle has a shearing or twisting effect, plus an updraft. I live in tornado alley, come on down!

An F0 or F1 is plenty dangerous! Been close to several and family horse operation damaged by one. It’s just that the damage is very local and mostly cleaned up in a few days.

Starts getting into strong F2 to F3 (and there are plenty of those), and it will probably rate some mention on national news and there will likely be injuries or worse.
