For the Carolinas, it all depends upon the timing of the start of the forecast loop. Right now, that is trending later and further up the coast, which is not good.

It does look like on radar that an eyewall replacement cycle might be happening. Good news is that would mean somewhat weaker winds. Bad news means a bigger eye that could push further inland from the coast.

Funny you mention the erc. Seriously...I was just about to post that. Stinks that recon had mechanical issues. Would love to see what the pressure dropped to. Let’s hope the ERC takes time to redevelop a strong inner core be aide of it completes the cycle before land interaction...that’s bad news. However, the wind field is probably going to expand now too.
