I'm just happy the storm was not as bad as made out to be. Millions of people in harms way escaped. Also, the liberals had their "global warming" talking points taken away.

The storm absolutely hammered Freeport in the Bahamas.

It then wobbled to the right and underwent an eyewall replacement that both kept the eye off the coast and weakened it. Both events are impossible to forecast in any manner. In other words, Florida got lucky. The storm was comparable in strength to Donna while in the Northern Bahamas. Donna tracked inland and caused major damage.

You don't wait to evacuate until you are absolutely sure how bad it will be. Because if worst case does happen, it's too late.

BTW, Matthew tracked to the left (landward) side of the forecast track in the Carolinas which made flooding in North Carolina and Virgina worse than if the model tracks three days out had held. So you just never know until the storm is already hitting.

IF you do a bit of homework, the storm was horrific for millions of people. What was exposed was these ‘weather gods’ were totally out to lunch as to the trac this storm would take, AND the rain that came with it to the ‘inland’ peoples. They demonstrated their idiocy, because their whole coverage changed today. North Carolina governor was near panic this morning because of the lack of ‘warning’ of heavy rains and flooding inland. It will take several days for the rivers and creeks to return to normalcy, and there are millions that have lost everything. AND it will be days before the death count is actually known.
