The big Myrtle Beach Springmaid fishing pier is destroyed. What was the longest pier on the Grand Strand at 1,060 feet, the popular fishing spot washed away in the heavy surf on Saturday. About 100 ft span is left of the structure. Previously, the pier was rebuilt following 1954 (Hurricane Hazel) and 1989 (Hurricane Hugo).

There are also reports of damage to the Surfside Pier.
