Storms like this, David in 1979 comes to mind ride up the Gulfstream it’s a steering current. What’s sketchy is beyond Vero it still hugs the coast. The atmospherics don’t lend itself right now to that. Hurricanes don’t really generate their own steering currents, that’s reading into the “Hurricanes make their own weather” axiom. Think a top on a table, you can make it go one way or another by changing the level of the table or the pattern of the medium it’s spinning in.
