>>I am sorry you have had a bad relationship or three. However, the problem is not that, as you put it, marriage and children are a sucker bet, the problem is the destruction of the family and the removal of God and His saving grace from our society. If men followed Gods plan for our lives then there would be no problem.
I haven’t. I’ve been married for 35 years. But I’m looking at the experiences of those who are younger than me and if I was their age and single, I’d definitely stay single. I’m also becoming more Deist in my beliefs, so I don’t think God really worries about some guy getting married.
Glad to hear of your wedded bliss. I did realize from your first statement that you do not fully believe in the Word of God. Also, I have seen you make this comment, at least I think it was you, several times on FR. To me, and I am by no means trying to engage in a war of words with you, your comments do not seem to be doing a good job of “looking at the experiences of those who are younger than me.” Hopefully not many young conservative men will follow your advice.
I agree with most of your comments. My sons have figured out the same thing on their own.
I have told them that I wouldn’t get married unless their prospective wife was a devout Christian. My wife tells them the same thing.
However, my wife doesn’t see the workplace and legal discrimination against men. My sons and their friends certainly do.
They have to make their own decisions about how they want to live their lives. They are not living in the 40’s or 50’s.
“I dont think God really worries about some guy getting married.”
All these Christians trying to guilt men into marriage seem to forget that Paul advised marriage only as a last recourse if you couldn’t control your own sexual lusts. Chastity was the preferable choice according to the him.
