Companies are made up of people. Some person or persons gave the order. That person or persons, hiding behind a corporate facade, is violating my civil rights.
The “order” came from your email client. It is completely customized. The sender cannot determine which folder things go into. The email client is set with default algorithms. That code was probably written two or three years ago.
