(CNN)Hillary Clinton emerges from the first presidential debate with a five-point lead over Donald Trump in the race for the presidency, having narrowed the enthusiasm gap between her supporters and Trump's, and holding broad advantages over the Republican nominee as the candidate with the right temperament and preparation for the job, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.
The survey finds Clinton topping Trump 47% to 42% among likely voters with Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson at 7% and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 2%. Clinton's boost in the race stems largely from gains on Trump among men (from a 22-point deficit with that group in early September to just a 5-point one now) and sharply increased support from independents, who broke heavily in Trump's favor in the early September poll but now tilt Clinton, 44% to 37%.

I hate to admit - that I actually watched the Megan Kelly show tonight.
They admitted that the media strategy was to throw boulders, rocks and stones at DT and see what landed. Howie Kurtz said that some ‘issues’ were legit and some were not -— but in the avalanche nobody would care ....
We will soon find out if the voters (minus the cheating) have common sense - why do the media cover for HC (no hard questions and use the Dem talking points)?
Unfortunately, I am so scared that casual voters eventually give into the avalanche.

When they see Clinton losing all the swing states, and some of the traditionally blue states, they know she is done, they are doing everything, and I mean EVERYTHING they can to save her sunk campaign.
You know she is sunk when they have to dig up 1995 tax returns and paid apprentice contestants and some Venezuelan porn star to bash Trump with.
Those are some pretty low bars, even for the MSM to sink down to. That is desperation.
If she had this in the bank like these polls suggest, they would not have to do any of this
If anything, these tactics are going to help Trump in the long run. Remember they did this stuff with GWB on his re-election and he still won.

I did not see the question on who will you vote for President in this poll.
The poll is really a push poll when it starts asking about paying taxes as a civic duty. It also asks if Trump is hiding something by not releasing his taxes. I am surprised that Trump does as well as he did in this poll.
This asinine poll is 70 pages long. I got crossed eyed just trying to find the Dem/Rep/Indie breakdown.

See, people know who Donald Trump is, we all know he is a good guy who have done great things and built great buildings around the world. That is what he does. No one really knew who Romney was so it was easier to lie about him and bash him over stupid things like the dog on the roof of his car etc. That stuff worked on Romney because he was already looked upon as being “weird” by the public.
But Trump, well we know he likes beautiful women, so saying he likes beautiful women is not an insult, the media tries to spin this as some sort of “male pig” but then again that isn’t going to play well since women themselves, except for the dyke demographic, like to be ogled as well. It is a two way street. The media would never admit to this.
Trump looked likes an Alpha male which will only help him with the male vote and the non lesbian/dyke female vote.
This is all going to fall apart for Hillary, she is one running the worse campaign of all times here, she is the one who is losing traditional Blue states, look at New Jersey, New Mexico, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, even New York (depending on turn out) are all up for grabs, but the media will never admit that she is the one trouble here. Trump is not in trouble, we are being manipulated to believe this. Blood is in the water, but it isn’t from the Trump Campaign, it is coming strait from the Hillary camp
It is the only way to explain the behavior of the Media and the Hillary campaign

Rand is the LA times polling people, pew utilizes the same continuous random population sampling method like CNN did here. the asshats referenced in the article from this original thread. I’ll take la times/rand any day.

Yes, but Rasmussen continuously selects a new population to sample, unlike PPD and la times (the old rand poll people). It is purportedly much less accurate and prone to statistical errors.
